We watched Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom for the first time last night. It was a great way to kick off the preparation of Sandy, while admiring sunshine filled sets and perfectly styled vignettes. The film is sweet and witty and I can’t decide if I admired the composition more than the plot!

De Vera is a beautifully curated object gallery in Soho, including Venetian glass, iron sculptures, antique jewelry and more rare finds. It’s certainly a feast for the eyes and a place to find inspiration!

I’ve been attending the Catoctin Colorfest in Thurmont, Maryland since I was a little girl. It has been a wonderful fall tradition with my mom. Every year we (my sister too!) look forward to stocking up on fresh pumpkin spice potpourri and reindeer made of cinnamon sticks. Here are a few items that caught my eye during the day and I must admit that I couldn’t leave without the croquet set. I can’t wait to see (or play) it in our new place! This festival goes beyond the fun finds… we love the food too. My mom and I wrapped up the day with delicious crab cakes, coleslaw and sweet tea.

I can’t think of a better way to wrap up summer, celebrate Chicago, and give back to a charitable cause, than by selecting my favorite items at the Randolph Antique Market! This is the last market of the season and it has proven to be one of the best. I love scouting for fun objects but I love giving back even more. The proceeds of my selections will benefit Chicago’s Common Pantry, the city’s longest-operating food pantry, helping families in need with hygienic supplies, food goods and more.

On another note, I recently moved to New York City, and this wouldn’t have been possible without my antiquing buddy Ben Wagner, sending me countless images and helping me narrow the favorites down to just a few. There are some seriously great finds this weekend. Go see for yourself!

I had to stop into the M0851 shop on my walk around Soho after spotting the interior styling. A series of framed photographs of perfectly curated and arranged merchandise caught my eye. You can find more beautiful inspiration on their website. The Canadian company specializes in fine leather goods and insists on keeping their production in Montreal, where the idea originally started. It’s been almost one month since my last blog post and there are so many updates to share! One at a time… my husband Luke was offered a fabulous opportunity to work at the Museum of Modern Art.
